   Despite my steadfast belief that this is a perfect album, even I can’t be blinded by the fact that the Red House Painters’ sophomore effort can almost, at times, be a chore to listen to. Difficulty isn’t a hindrance of Red House Painters I (or (Rollercoaster), whichever is your preference), but this isn’t an easy listen: this album can.

   Red House Painters also has one of those brilliant 4AD covers, a dreamlike image of a rollercoaster reminding me of the one Major Giuliani tore down in Long Island & films like Annie Hall (). This is mood music of the finest order- something needed more than ever in these days of mediocrity like Coldplay & Turin Brakes /5(22).

   The most elaborate and most subtle album by The Nits. A must on CD. Adieu Sweet Bahnhof (8,3) One of the great albums of the Nits, add the painful sincerity of The Red House Painters, throw in influences from all over the world and a big heaping mess of The Beatles you get something approaching Nits.
